I am very excited to welcome you to the 2026 season at the Bronte Tennis Club. After more than decade as a member and two years of service on our Board, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as the new President.
This year marks a significant transition for our Board as Eddie Bodbyl steps down from his role as President after two decades of distinguished service. We are immensely grateful for Eddie’s dedication and commitment and the profound contributions he has made to the club’s success over the years. We are pleased to announce that Eddie will remain on the Board as Past President; I am personally grateful that we will continue to benefit from his institutional knowledge and steady guidance. Thanks Eddie!
Our formal schedule remains unchanged. The club is fully operational, with on-duty court attendants, club house access and use of floodlights from May 1 to September 30. However, the club will continue its tradition of opening 'unofficially' on April 1. Weather permitting, we also intend to extend the season through October. During these shoulder months, members will have limited access to the clubhouse, consistent with our operations in previous years. The nets and windscreens are scheduled to be re-installed at the end of March in time for our unofficial opening.
The board is excited to deliver many of the same great programs and events with some additional flare! The Singles Ladder is integrated into the website, but some additional tweaks are coming to improve your experience. Updates are sent monthly by email, and please keep your eyes open for a link to the WhatsApp group chat, which is just another great way to stay in touch with your favorite tennis community. However, as always, you can visit the website for all information relating to the club. (www.brontetennis.com).
We are pleased to announce that Natalie Armitage and The Oakville Academy of Tennis are, as they have been for over 25 years, back! Please contact Nat to enroll in lessons and instruction.
The Board of Directors and I look forward to seeing you at the courts!
Paul Spagnuolo
President
